Polestar Hosts NGMW Members for Sheffield Space Opening

Polestar has opened its first “Space” retail location in Yorkshire, with a new permanent venue at the Meadowhall Shopping Centre in Sheffield — and NGMW members in attendance for the opening.

It’s the eighth such location in the UK, and only the second in the north following the opening of a similar Space at the Trafford Centre in 2021. The new permanent area replaces an earlier “pop-up” location at Meadowhall.

Sited on the upper level of the sprawling mall, on The Avenue, the Space is similar in format and layout to others around the UK. The wide-open area features a spot for each of the brand’s three models, including the Polestar 3 and Polestar 4 set for launch later this year, and plenty of room to walk around them all.

Majoring on technology, the space features interactive digital features and hosts Polestar product specialists who can help guide customers through every step of the process. On-site test drives are also available, as well as home or office deliveries for longer tests.

As Meadowhall itself points out, the shopping centre is an ideal location for electric vehicles. Claiming the largest solar panel array of any such mall in the UK, it can generate 770MWh of energy annually from almost 3,500 panels. There’s 30 charging points around the various car parks — which total 12,000 free spaces on-site.

The Polestar Space was opened by the head of Polestar UK, Jonathan Goodman, and Darren Pearce who is the centre director at Meadowhall in a unique “unbuckling” ceremony, with the duo unclipping a fetching yellow seatbelt rather than cutting a ribbon.

Along with the opening on June 13, attending NGMW members were able to take advantage of the test drive capacity, with four updated Polestar 2 models available for various driving routes.

Polestar Sheffield opened to the public June 14.
