Maserati Returns to Yorkshire for a Range Driving Day

Italian marque Maserati has staged another range day in our region, bringing its press fleet up to North Yorkshire with an example of every car on the UK market available.

For the 2025 event, that also meant a representative model from its new “Folgore” range of battery-electric vehicles — from the Italian word for “lightning” — covering the Grecale SUV, and both the second-generation GranTurismo coupe and GranCabrio convertible.

Alongside those were a selection of petrol-powered models, including the MC20 supercar and “Trofeo” models of the Grecale, GranCabrio, and GranTurismo, which all share a variant of the same three-litre, twin-turbo “Nettuno” V6. The Modena version of the Grecale, Maserati’s most popular model in the UK, was also available.

Once again, Grantley Hall, near Ripon, played host to the range day, with the Garden Pavilion as home base.

This former country house opened as a luxury hotel in 2019, having previously been a World War 2 convalescence hospital and residential college for West Riding County Council before being purchased by Yorkshirewoman Valeria Sykes in 2015.

The location is within the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, close to the Yorkshire Dales, with some scenic driving routes around the area which includes the nearby Site of Special Scientific Interest at Brimham Rocks and the area around RAF Menwith Hill.

Virtually in the heart of our region, it’s ideally located for the Northern Group of Motoring Writers, with several active members in attendance. You’ll be able to read their impressions of the vehicles on offer on the day in our various outlets over the coming weeks.
