Fully Charged Show Live Coming to Harrogate, May 19-21

Yorkshire will be hosting the first Fully Charged Show Live event in the north of the UK this month, when the festival of all things electric heads to Harrogate.

With a focus on electric vehicles and renewable energy, the Fully Charged Show is a YouTube channel, podcast, and website founded by actor and presenter Robert Llewellyn — probably best known as “Kryten” in the Red Dwarf series, and the host of Scrapheap Challenge.

Originally created as a passion project for electric cars in 2010, Fully Charged Show has grown to cover closely related subjects like electric bikes and aircraft, solar/wind power, air pollution, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure. It recently broke through a million subscribers on YouTube.

The exhibition in Harrogate will officially be known as Fully Charged Show Live UK North, and will be the sixth event in the UK following the original shows at Silverstone and more recent events — including one last month — at Farnborough. It’ll take place from May 19-21 at the Yorkshire Event Centre within the Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate.

Visitors will be able to see and experience a range of electric technologies, with manufacturers exhibiting electric and hybrid vehicles that include the Audi e-tron range, Bentley Flying Spur Hybrid, Ferrari 296, Lotus Eletre, Mazda MX-30, Mercedes-Benz EQ range, and Volkswagen ID range.

There’s a “Watt Drive” attraction, which will allow pre-booked driving experiences in a variety of electric cars from brands like Genesis, Nissan, and Polestar, and a similar “Micro Machines” exhibit for experiencing e-bikes, e-scooters, and e-skateboards. A “Kids’ Zone” will also entertain attending children with circus skills and LEGO city-building.

In addition the Home Energy Advice Team (HEAT), sponsored by Ovo Energy, will be on hand to help deliver consumer advice on home technologies including home charging and energy supply. There’s also two live stages that will host 30 sessions across the three days, presented by Llewellyn and fellow Fully Charged Show presenters Imogen Bhogal, Helen Czerski, and Jack Scarlett.

Tickets are available now, at £24 per day (£18 for Sunday), £28 for two days (£30 for Friday/Saturday), or £36 for all three days at for full adult prices. Children aged 15 or younger and carers go free.
