Northern Group

Graham King is the Northern Group’s Newest Recruit

The membership ranks of the Northern Group of Motoring Writers has increased again, with Graham King joining the group.

Yorkshire-based Graham is probably the only member who can drive all of the others round at once, as he’s a qualified bus and coach driver with extensive experience in companies across the north. However he’s combined that with freelance automotive writing across a number of well-known outlets.

Following spells at the now-defunct OnlyMotors and Motor1, Graham worked for car subscription service Drover before it was acquired by online car retailer Cazoo — including Graham himself, who continues to work for Cazoo as a senior content specialist.

As a freelancer, Graham has contributed to Autovia, CarThrottle, carwow, Motoring Research and Speedmonkey, as well as print outlets like Classic Jaguar, Retro Japanese, and Times Motoring.

In addition, Graham has a podcast called “HeadBoltz”, which is also the name you’ll find him under on social media sites Twitter and Instagram.

Graham is the fourth new member to be accepted into the Group over the past 12 months, following on from podcaster Andrew Crews and YouTube duo Annabelle and Ben Quirk, as we continue to attract younger members to join the fold.

We’re looking forward to welcoming Graham at our upcoming 2022 events that will include the SMMT Test Day North near Wetherby, and a planned meeting towards the end of the year.

If you’d like to be considered for membership too, contact Group chairman Andy Harris and membership secretary Frederic Manby for an application form.
