Andy Talbot Joins the Northern Group
Another new face has joined the Northern Group of Motoring Writers, with Andy Talbot being accepted into the group ahead of our spring ordinary general meeting.
Andy is probably more recognisable as a voice though, providing narration and commentary for more than 200 episodes of broadcast television worldwide every year. If you’ve ever tuned in to Auto Mundial or its sibling Motorsport Mundial on ITV4, chances are you’ll recognise his mellifluous tones, as he’s supplied voice-overs for the shows (among others) since 2019.
A classic car enthusiast by heritage — growing up with a selection of unusual Volkswagens and American TV shows through the 1970s — it’s little surprise that you can also find Andy’s writing in genre outlets. He’s written for Classic Car Weekly, AutoClassics.Com, and Octane, as well as his work for a classic car and motorcycle auction house.
Unusually, and we think this is a first for the Northern Group, Andy is a professionally trained and Equity-registered actor. He attended Bretton Hall School of Performance, with peers including the creators of The League of Gentlemen, and has worked in production and performance on radio, television, and film. Probably the only NGMW member with an IMDB page, Andy has also been a lecturer in acting for over 20 years.
With the addition of Andy to our ranks, the Group’s active membership has increased to precisely 30 and the largest it’s been in several years. We look forward to welcoming Andy — about whom you can read more on his NGMW bio page — and our other recently added members, to an NGMW event soon!
If you’d like to join the Northern Group too, you can find out how to do so here.
