BAC to Showcase Bespoke Mono Models at Monterey Car Week
After revealing its brand-new, third-generation Mono supercar at last year’s event, BAC will be returning to California to show off its “Bespoke” offerings at this year’s Monterey Car Week.
There’ll be significant presence from the Liverpool-based manufacturer during the high-profile, prestigious event on the peninsula, with exhibits of the Mono in a variety of motorsport-inspired liveries as well as a one-off example of the range-topping Mono R named for the event.
Dubbed the Monterey Edition, this unique model bears a number of special touches designed to evoke the area and one of its iconic landmarks: the Lone Cypress, one of the most-photographed trees in the USA.
That starts with the overall body finish, called “Lone Cypress Visible Carbon Fibre”, which adds a brown finish to the visible carbon fibre weave and includes a diamond-dusted coating to create a shimmer effect. This is complemented with Carmel Bay Bronze accents.
The theme continues to the cabin, which sports an embroidered emblem of the Lone Cypress and a “Monterey Mono R” plaque. BAC refers to the car as “a rolling tribute to a landscape steeped in natural splendour and automotive heritage”.
Elsewhere, BAC USA and partner brand Motul will be bringing several examples of the Mono in motorsport-themed liveries for a display at Laguna Seca in the lead up to the weekend, from Wednesday 14th August to Friday 16th August. The Monterey Mono R will also be available to view, in the Motul area at the Monterey Motorsports Reunion on Saturday August 17.
Representatives from BAC USA will also be on-hand, along with BAC’s co-founders Neill and Ian Briggs, to meet owners, media, and the brand’s fans and supporters.
