Bentley Continental GT Limited Edition Celebrates Pikes Peak Record Run

Bentley has revealed a special model Continental GT Limited Edition to mark the brand’s production car record at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.

The record run came back in July, and saw Bentley add to its honours at the world’s highest race, with the Bentayga setting a new course record for SUVs in 2018.

Over a 5,000ft climb from the start line at 9,300ft above sea level, the Continental GT averaged more than 70mph to beat a four-year old mark. The 10’18.488s run was just over eight seconds quicker than the Porsche 911’s 2015 record.

The limited edition car isn’t one for the shy, with a bright green “Radium” paint finish from Mulliner — matching the main colour of the record-setting car — which you’ll also find on the brake calipers and the special Pirelli P Zero Colour Edition tyres.

There’s a carbon fibre bodykit, with gloss black detailing on the mirrors, vents, roof panel and around the rear of the car. You’ll also find a special Pikes Peak decal on the front wing, while a special “100” front grille — for the brand’s centenary — is optional.

The green and black theme continues to the inside, with black Alcantara and beluga hide sporting contrasting radium stitching. A special graphic on the passenger side shows a map of the Pikes Peak course, along with the car’s record time.

All 15 of the limited run cars will be W12 coupes, powered by the same 626hp, twin-turbo engine that Rhys Millen drove on his record-setting run. They’re available to order now, though Bentley hasn’t given a price; we’d expect something in the region of £200,000 apiece.
