BAC Opens New Innovation Centre

Liverpool’s mayor, Joe Anderson, has opened a new 11,000 sqft facility at Briggs Automotive Company in Speke, doubling the size of the company’s headquarters.

The BAC Innovation Centre sits alongside the BAC Manufacturing Centre, close to Liverpool John Lennon Airport. As well as providing a new space for the company’s design and engineering teams, with an “innovation studio”, there’s a dedicated service centre for the BAC Mono single-seater supercar.

Anderson, who has been Mayor of Liverpool since 2012, also opened the Manufacturing Centre in December 2013 and toured both facilities during the opening event.

Ian Briggs, co-founder and design director at BAC, commented:

It’s been an incredible journey for BAC and with the Innovation Centre now in full swing, we have the perfect platform to build and hit further heights as a company. We now have the ideal facility in which to develop new products and implement the very latest technology.

The expansion comes in the company’s tenth anniversary year, a few months after BAC delivered the 100th Mono supercar, with customers in 38 countries around the world taking ownership. BAC has opened new dealerships across Europe and in the USA to cater for demand for the unique machine.

In addition, BAC has also just revealed the Mono R, an enhanced and even lighter version of of the Mono, using advanced materials like graphene, titanium, and magnesium, and 3D printed components to keep kerb weight to a bare minimum.
